A young agent among legends
Jerry’s first professional home was the celebrated impresario organization Sol Hurok Presents, bringing him into the orbit of Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev, and Marilyn Horne.
Four decades of shaping careers and stories — from the concert stage and the publishing house to television, independent film, and the ballet. A manager who builds artists for the long run.
“Regional and subsidized theatre is the great hope for theatre today.” Tennessee Williams, to Jerry Silverhardt · The Westerner
Jerry Silverhardt is an award-winning talent manager and producer at Silverhardt Entertainment, with more than four decades of experience across live performance, publishing, television, film, and dance. In January 2026, iPOP! named him its 2025 Manager of the Year, recognizing his leadership, mentorship, and long-term commitment to developing performers.
His engagement with the arts began as a senior at Western New England College, where he covered theatre, concerts, and cultural events for the student newspaper The Westerner. During that period he interviewed Tennessee Williams in connection with StageWest’s revised production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof — an early sign of the instinct for talent and storytelling that would define his career.
Jerry began his professional life in New York as a young agent at Sol Hurok Presents, the celebrated impresario organization, working in the orbit of artists including Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev, and Marilyn Horne. He later joined Bantam Books, working with authors such as Leon Uris, Truman Capote, Anaïs Nin, Rona Jaffe, and Rod Serling, before moving into theatrical management at Hush Productions, where he managed Tony Award winner and three-time Grammy nominee Melba Moore.
Over the course of his management career, Jerry has helped launch the careers of performers including Tom Cruise, Dylan McDermott, Gabrielle Anwar, Richard Grieco, and Carmine Giovinazzo. As a producer, his credits span the Fox television movie Born to Run, the UPN series Marker, and Oxygen’s All the Right Moves, made with World of Wonder.
Today he represents actors, directors, writers, dancers, and choreographers — and continues to produce, most recently as an executive producer of When Robert Met Judith and AB_Invito, and as a producer on Yaniv Rokah’s Gidon Lev documentary Follow Me. A member of the Television Academy, Jerry also serves on the advisory boards of Rise Flix and Wisconsin Dance Theatre.

From the Fox movie Born to Run and the UPN series Marker to Oxygen’s All the Right Moves and recent independent films, Jerry has moved fluidly from representing talent to producing the work itself.
Long before Hollywood, a senior at Western New England College wrote for the student newspaper The Westerner under the byline “Jerald J. Silverhardt.” In it, he sat down with Tennessee Williams at the Sheraton Inn to discuss regional theatre, the playwright’s revisions, and the future of the American stage.
The conversation took place in connection with StageWest’s revised production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Williams told the young critic that subsidized regional companies were “the great hope for theatre today” — a belief Jerry has carried through a lifetime of championing artists.
An early example of Jerry’s work as an arts critic and interviewer. Note: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof premiered on Broadway in 1955; StageWest presented Williams’s newly revised version, not a world premiere of the original play.
